KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Tennsun -- Jan-Carol Publishing, Inc., of Johnson City, Tennessee, is thrilled to announce the release of Ancestral Travels: Exploring My German Food Culture, Volume 2 by Joye Cantrell.
Joye Cantrell grew up a military brat with a love for travel and good food. She worked in restaurants while earning her Home Economics degree at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. After dedicating her life to teaching students the joys of cooking, she and her husband, Steven, have retired to the country life in eastern Tennessee. This is her second book on her German ancestry. She can be followed on Facebook at Ancestral Travels and at ancestral-travels.com.
In Ancestral Travels Vol. 2, Cantrell brings the past to life through cooking with a recipe book that explores the food culture of the German people before they became a nation. This book will whet your appetite for food history by recreating fare that influenced fairy tales and nourished leaders of the Enlightenment. Be sure to examine the artist's illustrations, as they contain clues about the origins of the recipes.
