BRENTWOOD, Tenn. ~ This week, Lifepoint Rehabilitation, a business unit of Lifepoint Health, was recognized for its outstanding work in physical rehabilitation. Nineteen of its freestanding inpatient rehabilitation facilities and sixteen of its contracted acute rehabilitation units were awarded by Newsweek in this year's list of America's Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers.
The awards list was announced on August 23rd and can currently be viewed on Newsweek's website. The list highlights top physical rehabilitation centers from all US states and was determined based on a national online survey, quality score, and accreditation data. Thousands of medical experts (physicians, therapists, medical doctors, administration & staff working in physical rehabilitation facilities) were invited to an online peer-to-peer survey to rank the quality of care, quality of service, quality of follow-up care, and accommodations & amenities. Data published by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and data provided by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC) were also taken into consideration.
