WALL, N.J., July 24, 2024 ~ During the National School Transportation Association (NSTA) Annual Meeting & Convention held last night in Nashville, Tenn., three members of Student Transportation of America's (STA) leadership team were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the industry. The awards ceremony highlighted each individual's commitment to industry excellence, community stewardship, and service.

The first award recipient was Patrick Vaughan, Chief Executive Officer emeritus of STA. After a 45-year career in the industry, Vaughan was inducted into the NSTA Hall of Fame for his remarkable knowledge, extensive experience, and dedication to bettering student transportation. Gene Kowalczewski, Chief Executive Officer of STA, expressed his pride in Vaughan's achievement and stated that it was a fitting end to his successful career.

Gregg Stinson, Executive Vice President of the Eastern US Business Group at STA, was named an NSTA 2024 Golden Merit award winner. With 40 years of experience in maintenance and operational roles within the student transportation industry, Stinson has consistently prioritized safety, reliability, and exceptional service. He has also played a key role in expanding STA's market share through strategic growth initiatives and acquisitions.

Keith Galloway, Senior Vice President of Business Development/M&A at STA, received the NSTA 2024 Committee Member of the Year award. Galloway has been a part of the school bus transportation industry since 1983 and joined STA in 2018 to lead their merger and acquisition efforts. He is also actively involved in various committees within NSTA and provides valuable insights to the organization.

In addition to individual awards, STA was also recognized by NSTA for its commitment to environmental sustainability. The company received the Go Yellow, Go Green award for its electric vehicle (EV) program. Through grants, partnerships, and investments, STA has replaced over 3,500 diesel engine school buses with alternative fuel vehicles. They are now expanding their EV program to select districts across the nation, with recent additions in New Hampshire and Connecticut.

Rachel Lane, VP of Electrification and Sustainability at STA, expressed her gratitude for the recognition and stated that the company is committed to exploring EV technology and finding solutions for a greener future.
