GRAY, Tenn. - Tennsun -- The NAHC is back, but what is it? "NAHC" stands for the National Academic Homeschool Competition. It's returning for a second year to provide homeschooled students an exclusive academic competition of their own. The NAHC is a virtual event consisting of two levels of competition followed by a championship round. Students compete right from home in three age divisions: 12–14, 15–16, and 17–18. Prizes and awards will be given to the top finalists in each division.
The NAHC exists due to a partnership between College Options Foundation and The Old Schoolhouse® with sponsorship by CTCMath and Colorado Christian University. Terry Wilfong of College Options Foundation explained why he believes homeschoolers should compete in the NAHC. "The tests are designed similarly to the SAT and ACT to ensure participants are familiar with the format and types of questions they will see on standardized testing. With NAHC experience, students can test confidently and significantly improve SAT and ACT scores. Plus it's an extracurricular opportunity that can be included on transcripts and college applications."

"The NAHC is absolutely worthwhile for homeschooled students," added Gena Suarez, publisher of The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine. "But don't just take my word for it. Find out what the NAHC is really like in the latest issue of The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine. We interviewed a homeschooled high school student who competed in the first NAHC last year. She gave her honest opinion on the experience and offered advice. We interviewed her mom, too, who shares whether she thinks the NAHC was worth the time and effort. Don't miss the article (https://bit.ly/45KHRw1)."
Registration is now open at NAHCRegistration.com (http://bit.ly/NAHCisBACK). The site includes competition details and FAQs about this unique opportunity for homeschoolers.
